KIPP Gaston College Preparatory

KIPP Gaston College Preparatory (KIPP GCP) is a 5th – 12th grade open-enrollment charter school founded in rural Gaston, North Carolina in 2001.

KIPP Gaston College Prep was the third KIPP school in the country.

Gaston College Preparatory is committed to the goal of not only sending all their students to college but ensuring they graduate from college as well. In fact, being accepted to a four-year college is a graduation requirement at KIPP GCP.

This year, 100% of KIPP GCP’s first graduating class has been accepted to four-year colleges or universities and, to date, has amassed over $2 million dollars in scholarship money. 80% of these graduates will be first generation college students; this at a public open enrollment charter school that is over 86% African-American and with over 65% of its students qualifying for free or reduced lunch.
